Acreage and large property maintenance

Larger blocks around Townsville rarely have just one type of area to maintain — there's often a maintained lawn close to the house, open paddock-style ground further out, and fence lines or embankments in between. Acreage maintenance combines mowing, slashing and brush cutting as needed across these different areas in a coordinated visit rather than treating each as a separate job.

Where a large property has fallen behind — common when an owner has been away, a block has changed hands, or growth has simply outpaced available time — we assess the whole site and often work through it in stages, prioritising access tracks, driveways and areas close to structures before moving to more open ground.

Once a large block is back under control, ongoing visits are considerably more manageable than repeatedly catching up from an overgrown starting point.

Acreage-style properties don't need — and often can't practically sustain — the same presentation standard as a small suburban lawn. We work with property owners to set a maintenance rhythm that keeps the block genuinely under control and safe from a fire and access standpoint, without promising an unrealistic manicured finish across the entire area.

For properties on an ongoing arrangement, we set a visit rhythm based on the block's typical growth pace, bringing visits forward during wet-season surges and spacing them out through the dry season, so the property stays manageable without over-servicing it.

Rural-fringe and acreage areas around Townsville — including parts of Kelso, Mount Low, Condon and Deeragun — often carry a mix of grass and light bushland vegetation that grows quickly through the wet season and needs a broader approach than standard suburban mowing.

Access to large blocks can be affected by heavy rain, particularly where driveways or tracks aren't sealed, and we factor this into scheduling rather than risk equipment or damage to soft ground.
